On an especially dreary February afternoon, a visit to Long Island's Planting Fields Arboretum was a welcome sight for sullen, winter eyes. Beneath the glass of a marvelous old greenhouse, dozens of Camelias in bloom vivaciously assuring us that Spring is not so far away.
